LSH 2903-Final Reflection

1. Organization:

            Community service is one of the enjoyable courses I have studied. This course almost all of it about volunteering for an organization company. My volunteer was in Abu Dhabi science festival in AL Cornish, in my organization I learned a lot of things especially how to communicate with people and children and help them to be more excited and aware them to get in the right way. Also for me I got a lot of things that will help me in the future like how to helps the people and make a good contact with them.

2. Best part of volunteering:

            Though my volunteer I met some new friends in my organization company and I enjoyed a lot with them, also I shared with my friends about how to explain for the children in easy way and make them happier. In Addition, I should leave for them a good impression about me and about the volunteering people there.

3. Support the community:

            This experience changed me to be a better person because before that experience I was helping people but not that much and I don’t believe that in the some day I will be a volunteering person because every time I see my self and I said I cant be like them. However, every organization company has a different volunteering work that effect on the people and at the same time affect on the community, also when I volunteer should volunteer without money like some company that motivate people.

4. All l learned:

            Finally, I believe that it was a great part of experience and this will help me in the near future. Also, every person had volunteered should thank his organization company and every company that gives chance for people to work with them because they help and aware people as much as they can.

Day#6-AbuDhabi Science Festival

         In the last day, i went to Abu Dhabi science festival (ADSF) at 1:00 pm in Cornish then i check in. First of all, i go to my workshop and i did some practice and revision then i prepare the things before the children come to the workshop. Secondly, all we know that we have three section inside our workshop which is physical,chemical and biology. However, in this day i did the three sections and take some photo and video of my group member and my leader to memorized, then i did an interview with mr. Jon after that we took half an hour break then we come back and still we have the last two group for the last day. In Addition, mr. Jon gave each one in our group a small gift and he said i want to see you in the next year. Finally, i check out then i walk inside ADSF and take some ideas about other workshops and what they are doing, also i took some pictures of other workshops.

- My name is Jon I’m form the United Kingdom and I’m professional science communicator.

 Tell me what you are doing here in Abu Dhabi Science Festival?

- My roller here is as team leader, so I have got a lot of people who I’m training to be science communicators and they delivering these fantastic workshops to people.

What is the main goal of Abu Dhabi Science Festival?

- I will said there is two main goals for this, one is for the children to get excited and learn about science, the other goal is try to allow university students who being the science communicators to learn how to communicate better to give him confidence so they can stand up in front of a group of people and communicate.

Firstly, have you been visited Abu Dhabi science festival before?

- No, this is first time.

Nice, what do you like from these workshops?

- I visit two workshops one of them Rocket Rail and the other one Crime Scene, but I like crime scene more than Rocket Rail because I got some information I didn’t know about it before.

What do you learned from Abu Dhabi science festival or workshop you are visited?

- I learned how to do some experiments and how to find the killer. In addition, How can I check the finger print and the foot print.

 Have you enjoyed here?

- Yes I enjoyed a lot.

Will you visit us next year?

- Yes, I hope that I will participate again in the next year.

Day#5-AbuDhabi Science Festival

           In the third day, i went to Cornish with my friends after the lunch directly at 1:00 pm and arrived there at 1:30 pm then we check in. anyway, ADSF organization they said will change your section in third day but we are still the same. First of all, i went to my workshop (Crime Scene Investigation) then i prepare everything and clean the crime place and organize the things. in this day i did the biology and  explained how to find the killer from blood splatter and blood type, then i took the first group and explain for them how to do the blood splatter and from which high is it. we have three high that we check for it 40,100 and 180 but this is a weak evidence. The second experiment is blood type, we have three type of blood which is type A ,type B and type O. After that we have four suspect A,B,C and D then we put some blood in small cup for each suspect also the crime blood with different cup then we have Anti A and Anti B blood we put three drops in each cup and we check where is the reaction. why we check where is the reaction? because in the crime cup there is a recreation, so we should find where is the reaction. Lastly we ask the children it is a strong evidence or weak evidence they said strong evidence because we took the blood from each suspect and compare with the victim blood.

Day#4-AbuDhabi Science Festival

          In the second day, also i went to cornish from 1:30 to 6:30 on Saturday then i go to my workshop volunteering which is Crime Scene Investigation (CSI). First of all,  i check in then i go to my section to  prepare the things that well using today and clean everything, then we start with first group and explain to him how could find the killer from chemical satisfaction, first well start to get the soil from the crime place then we have 4 suspect and every suspect have a cup then we put in every cup little of soil then we mixed with water after that we have a small sheet with brown color actually is not sheet it is some we thing used to make a reaction with water and soil then we find who is the killer, However it is not a strong evidence but there are other experiment like a blood type and finger print are strong evidence. Finally, we have got more information than the first day and we know more easily how to communicate with children and let him to enjoy with us after that everyone clean his table after the experiment and then leave the workshop.

Day#3-AbuDhabi Science Festival

          In the first day, i went to cornish at 1:30 to 6:30 on the friday then i go to my workshop volunteering which is Crime Scene Investigation (CSI). Firstly, we got a small group of children contain from 7 children and two other groups with 10 children then we did the physical and start with footprint identification that can help us to find the killer but it is a weak evidence, while after that we took the children to fingerprinting which is strong evidence that  could find the killer. Anyway there is 4 suspect A,B,C and D we start to find the finger print from A to D then we check who is the killer. After that i met my teacher at 5:00 pm and talk with him about the volunteering and what we are doing. Finally, we enjoy in the first show it was very nice also the children enjoy with us.
